Christmas is over and the New Year 2012 has already started….

Many birds of ill omen are already flying around the newborn year, like the ugly witch around Sleeping Beauty! but we should remember that in spite of all bad predictions, there is always a little twig of hope, and that this year will also be what WE make of it.

Dear Colleagues and Partners,

The preparation of our Spring issue was completely disrupted by the horrible event of April 28th, but in our sadness we found a huge comfort in all the messages that not only we, but the whole city, received from friends all over the world. Now the impact of the shock has been softened by the discovery and punishments of the offenders, but during all that time the people of Marrakech – and of Morocco in general – have never lost their long term tradition of kind and friendly hospitality to all visitors.

Ramadan, a month of peace and forgiveness for all Muslims, has started a few days ago, with families meeting to break the fast at sunset and the whole city smelling of « harira » around 7.00 pm . The Recipe (very easy ) is included. Have a go at making it , as it is a rich, tasty and nourishing soup that can make you a dinner with a nice chunk of bread…

More news on openings, on our « Day with the Berbers » program… We have also some nice « new ideas » that we still keep a little secret…. but drop us a line, and we might share them with you !

I must admit that we are a bit late as Spring is already knocking at our door, at least in Marrakech! But this is still officially Winter, though the roses bushes in my garden are already covered with red stems announcing beautiful roses to come.

We have plenty of interesting news in this issue, from the « very soon to open » Four Seasons hotel, to new itineraries in the souks or new unusual venues for Incentive parties or conferences with a difference.
